Our special bride this time, very graceful Saniya Patel hails from United States. But, being a true-blue Gujarati at heart, she is immensely biased towards her home-land. Growing up seeing her cousins and friends preferring to buy their Bridal Outfits from the trusted market leader, she too decided to pick her own ornate Wedding Lehenga Choli from Ahmedabad store of AsoPalav.

Saniya, who chose to have a glittering wedding in Ahmedabad, is one of the most popular AsoPalav brides, in the recent times. Post her regal wedding at the scintillating Diamond Hall of the posh Rajpath Club, located off the buzzing S.G. Highway, Saniya graciously shared her marvelous wedding and reception pictures with us.

Her strikingly attractive pictures, shared on AsoPalav’s social media pages, garnered immense interest from future brides, clients and fans. Same was the case, when we shared her pictures on Saree.com’s (AsoPalav’s Online Partner) pages. It was clear that Saniya’s stylish yet absolutely graceful and understated styling was a true winner. To top that, she herself is such a pretty girl! No wonder, she made an absolutely gorgeous and radiant bride, and we can’t stop looking at various candid shots of hers on her all Red Bridal Lehenga on her D-day.

Saniya also picked her Reception Gown and a few elegant pieces for her wedding trousseau from AsoPalav. For trousseau, though, she mostly stuck to AsoPalav’s designer western and Indo-western lines. Well, we love her every way!

Here, Saree.com gives a detailed low-down on Saniya’s scintillating bridal outfit and reception dress –

1. Designer Bridal Lehenga Choli

Designer Bridal Lehenga Choli - saree.comOne of the best things about Saniya’s amazing choice is she was very clear. She is an intelligent girl, and she ensured that everything she had envisioned about her wedding attire was clearly communicated. The AsoPalav store staff was all charmed by her ways, and went to lengths to ensure Saniya got what she desired.

She remained firm on buying something in extremely traditional yet elegant styling. Nonetheless, she wanted something ‘different’ and royal. That is why the AsoPalav staff suggested a Velvet-based Lehenga to her.

Even after living in the States, Saniya has remained close to her deeply Indian roots. Thus, she preferred sticking to traditional Indian wedding colours. Through her pictures, she intended to explain the Indian customs and heritage, and her own wedding journey to her friends and acquaintances, back home (in America). After multiple outfit trials, she, understandably, chose a lehenga in regal red (with blush pink accents) – the colour of sacred vermilion, so closely associated with the Indian weddings and holy rituals.

The stunning scarlet and blossoming pink of her outfit get lifted further by the ethereal notes of antique gold. Red and gold is the foremost choice of any Indian bride, and Saniya’s outfit was just that – and some more. The pink notes added a wonderful trendy vibe, while the heavily embellished skirt kept the whole look grounded.

Wedding saree - saree.comSaniya wanted ornate and unique hand-work on her bridal dress. The piece she eventually picked up, so masterfully, is embellished with the antique metallic wires embroidery Zardozi – an Indian art with Persian and Mughal influences. No wonder, the final look was stunningly royal!

The golden colour tones used in Zardozi are never garish or over-the-top. So, this went well with our sweet bride’s suave sensibilities. But, a Bridal Lehenga has to be somewhat dazzling. Right? So, Saniya and AsoPalav’s helpful assistants chose Sequins Scattering work (also hand-done by traditional artisans) along with intricate Zardozi.

Her lovely lehenga also had a stunning detail that makes Gujarati Chaniya Cholis or Bridal ensembles different from all others. The bouncy, cute and intricately hand-woven latkans! A simple skirt string is transformed to a piece of art in Gujarat, where the strings used to hold lehenga skirt in place are crafted with such care and creativity. The hanging latkan in Saniya’s lehenga were cute, bouncy, pompom-like pink, fluffy resham-work additions that truly stood out!

Since the fully embroidered blouse and lehenga made quite a heavy combination in Saniya’s amazing wedding costume, the dupatta was kept simpler in comparison –to balance the whole look. Also, the long odhani/ dupatta had to be draped on head – as Saniya preferred a perfect Indian bridal look and styling – so, it was best kept pliable and relatively lighter.

Thus, while the whole lehenga ensemble was in velvet and silk, the dupatta was in net – embellished with zardozi border along all sides, scattered daintily with pretty Millennium Buti (sequins motifs) all over. The blush pink of dupatta stood in stark contrast to lehenga outfit’s eye-catching red and gold – hence creating an awesome, romantic mix of vibrant colours – so suitable for our ravishing bride.

2. Wedding Jewelry

Wedding Lehenga Choli - saree.comSaniya wanted her wedding jewelry to go perfectly with her designer bridal lehenga choli. So, she decided to pick up the imitation jewelry in similar red and gold tones from AsoPalav store itself.

Now, Saree.com (AsoPalav’s Online Partner) too has an amazing range of artificial jewelry in traditional as well as trendy and contemporary designs to go with your wonderful outfits. If you have picked up your wedding dress, but forgot to pick coordinated imitation jewellery, don’t worry. You can get in touch with Saree.com’s awesome client managers to get your chosen pieces from the comfort of your home!

Meanwhile, our resplendent bride picked up a rani-haar – a 3-layered kundan neck-piece, as a key piece with her lehenga. But, a bride needs to be truly decked up! So, she was also suggested a close-neck, choker style royal red and gold, kundan piece that would uplift her bridal look. She paired a demure nose ring, heavy bridal matching earrings and a traditional Matha Patti/ Stringed Maang Tika to complete her perfect bridal look.

3. Reception Evening Gown

Saniya was so impressed by her wedding shopping experience with AsoPalav that she suggested it to her loving would-be-groom too.

Groom’s family was looking to buy a truly spectacular Reception outfit for their dear girl Saniya. They understood the girl’s sensibilities and life-style (in the US), so they chose to go with a somewhat westernized look.

Nonetheless, it is clear that the doting hubby knew of Saniya’s bias for tradition. So, together they picked up this ethereal Designer Reception Gown in amazing royal blue and golden/ beige skirt accents – a perfect blend of Indian tradition and contemporary modernity.

Saniya looked like a demure princess in her heavily embellished velvet and net gown. In terms of embellishments, golden again found favour with our beautiful bride. The net ball-gown like princess-skirt in gold-beige further made her look like a painting out of a royal saga!

Saniya profusely thanked AsoPalav for making her wedding a dream affair. She recommends it to everyone too.
Now back to the U.S, firmly instated in matrimony, Saniya confesses to regularly visiting Saree.com to her fill of Indian ethnic ensembles. She may not wear these dresses regularly, but she can always buy them for her festivals and special occasions. She tells us that it’s not easy to buy trusted Indian-wear abroad, and that is why Saree.com, backed by AsoPalav promise, is among her favourites. She also finds the reasonable and sensible pricing at Saree.com a huge draw.

We hope to serve Saniya in future. And, we wish the beautiful couple all the luck in life ahead.
